Often referred to as "Mr. Sarbanes Oxley"™ (Mr. SOX™) for his expertise in Corporate Governance, Risk Management, Compliance and Controls (a.k.a. GRC), Mr. Sanjay Anand, Chairperson of the SOX, GRC, and ESG Institutes at the Sarbanes Oxley Group (SOXGAP), is a prolific speaker, consultant, researcher, author, publisher, peer reviewer, and more.

With over 30 years of extensive hands-on industry experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise across various aspects of business and technology.

He is also the creator of the (trademarked) C-FIT-O (Chief Financial, Information, Technology Officer)™ model which he developed in 2002 in response to the increasing overlaps in the professional duties and responsibilities of CFOs and CIOs at Fortune 500 and Global 2000 companies. He (and his team) also developed the SOCKET™ (Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance Key Enterprise Technologies) Framework which was published in 2004 (just a couple of years after the passage of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act).

Sanjay has been published in several magazines and journals on business and technology (see some of them on the “Media Recognitions” page), and his many books (see list below) are read and used by executives, professionals, academics and students at companies and colleges around the world. He is a frequent reviewer of articles, as well as author of articles, for various journals. He has been recognized as a Founding Member of the NASBA (National Association of State Boards of Accountancy) Center for Public Trust, and a member of the CEO Roundtable of SOX Compliance Journal. He is also a member of the global Psychometrics Society devoted to the advancement of quantitative measurement practice, a Community Member of the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) dedicated to quality and leadership in online and digital learning, and he has been on the boards and committees of several domestic (US) as well as international (overseas) for- and non-profit organizations/NGOs. He is also a member of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), and he has been involved in and with AI and Gen AI since the 1990s, including, for example, on graphics and intelligence based script technologies which are being used for artificially intelligent (AI) machine translations (MT). As a responsible global citizen who is committed to leveraging AI to level the playing field for all, he is an active member of the “Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Cities” and of the “Governance and regulatory framework” expert-driven thematic groups of the UN global collaboration initiative, United for Smart Sustainable Cities (U4SSC), and of the United Nations’ AI for Good initiative.

He is the publisher of the Inside GRC Journal™, and a peer-reviewer for the Information Security Journal: A Global Perspective, the official journal of (ISC)² published by Taylor & Francis, which focuses on providing essential information for managing the security of modern enterprises and offers a platform for high-quality research on information security. He has peer-reviewed over 20 articles for the Information Security Journal over the past 15 years. In addition, he has written for several journals (including e.g. ISACA Journal, J.D. Edwards Quest Q&A, IOD’s 360, Social Service Journal, and more). He also holds a patent and several trademarks at the USPTO.
